His Name was Jason

I'm a huge whore for Friday the 13th. I first got into the movies when I was about 13 and never got out of them. The first summer I started watching them was one of the best summers ever. My friends and I would get a couple horror movies from the local video store (since closed down *sniff*) and have a grand ole time. We saw all the Friday's, all the Nightmare on Elm Streets, all the Halloweens, and many more. The Friday's were my favourite though and even now as a 24 year old, I still love those movies. The release of the new movie is like waiting for the birth of my child. 5 more days bitches!!!

This was a documentary about all of the movies so I was pumped. I know most people reading this don't care so I won't say much about it really. I loved it though. It's because I'm a huge fan, anyone else wouldn't give half a shit. My girlfriend saw maybe 5 minutes before she moved on. I sat and listened intently as though talking to God himself.

The best part about this documentary for me was how honest everyone was. It wasn't all ass kicking and self praise, people were honest and mean. They insult their co-stars, insult movies in the series, it's great! Everyone is so bitter and awesome on this thing. I learned a few things, but mostly I learned how miserable everyone who worked on these movies seems to be.

If you're a fan, you have to watch this. If you're not, you have to become one or there is no reason for you to be on my planet.

8/10

  1. You will have to tell me how it ends after it comes out, because I have no intention of watching it. However, I really want to know if they change the ending from the original. I heard they did and kept with the vibe of the later more supernatural style of Jason movies (you know, where he is pretty much super human) rather than the thrilling and shocking part of the original (Spoiler: it was his mom).
