Also why wasn't it enough to just have the title end at 3? Did they really need 'Revelations' at the end? There are some revelations I guess, but isn't that true for most movies? Way to dip into the generic subtitles there guys. Couldn't use 'Requiem' or 'Reborn' or whatever the hell else?
I actually really liked the first movie, not so much the second one. This one is merely ok. Granted they do try and do something a little different by having the main character trying to track down a serial killer. It makes things a little more interesting even if you're pretty sure who the killer is going to turn out to be.
I didn't recognize any of the actors in the movie, and they didn't make enough of an impression for me to go searching for their past work. They do fine and nobody stands out as being a terrible actor, but nobody stands out as mind-blowing. Well the girl with the large breasts who gets naked stands out, but not so much because of her acting.
There seems to be a lot of holes in the story too, which is to be expected when it comes to time travel movies. I'm not sure if these holes are there by mistake, or if it's one of those movies that you're supposed to talk about after it's over. There are a couple things you can tell are put there on purpose to make you think, and I will admit that I did think about them for a few minutes after the movie was over. Then I started watching Pineapple Express and forgot all about it.
Butterfly Effect 3 keeps your interest and is not a terrible movie by any means. It's just rather pointless overall. It does have some effective scenes and the ending is a bit of an emotional punch to the gut. Plus this is a huge improvement over the second installment since at least they attempt to do something different.
6/10
